Just because the temperatures drop and the snow starts falling down, doesn’t mean you can’t stay toasty…
I have all sorts of little tricks to make those cold winter months cozy and warm. These tips will surely keep the shivers away this winter
Put on a Big, Cozy Sweater
Everyone should have one of these in their wardrobe. You know, a big, oversized, super comfortable sweater. Mine goes with everything so I throw it on top of my clothes for that extra layer of warmth. It’s so comfortable, I can fall asleep in it!
Make Some Hot Cocoa
Hot cocoa tastes like wintertime to me! I’ve actually made it a tradition to make a pot of hot cocoa each time it snows. I love getting a good book and sipping some hot cocoa by a window. A hot cup of cocoa warms you up inside while the snow falls outside.
Cuddle Up with Someone
When it’s cold outside, you can make winter a special time for cuddling with your significant other or your pet. I love putting a good movie on, sitting on the couch with a blanket, and cuddling with my cocker spaniel. I put a cute plaid sweater on him to make sure he keeps warm, too!
Bake Chocolate Chip Cookies
Mmmm… a freshly baked batch of chocolate chip cookies. Can’t you just taste it right now? All that moving around in the kitchen will surely warm you up. Take the cookies out of the hot oven and enjoy!
Have a Snowball Fight
Sometimes it feels like winter can last forever. Staying inside for months can really give me cabin fever. That’s when I know it’s time to get my friends together for a good old-fashioned snowball fight. Call your friends to come over to have a snowball fight, build a snowman, or go sledding. Who says we’re too old for it? It’s a ton of fun, and playing in the snow all bundled up really works up a sweat.
Cook a Big Pot of Soup
For me, nothing is more soothing than a hot bowl of soup. Cooking over a stove gets me warmed up. Then I enjoy a hearty bowl of soup to feel nice and toasty. If you invite your friends over to share, I’m sure they’ll thank you for it.
Treat Your Feet
I love a good pair of knitted wool socks or puffy slippers. They look super cute, but also keep my toes warm even when it’s cold outside.
Maybe it’s the holiday cheer or cuddling together on the couch under the covers, but something about the winter time really seems to bring people closer. Everyone can gather in front of a warm fire, sip hot cocoa, and tell stories while the snow falls outside. The little things we do to stay warm during the winter make it a special time of year that warms us from the inside.
